This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. It exists to keep the service fair, lawful and useful for everyone.
You may not use the service to:
- Acquire a domain for an unlawful purpose, including fraud, phishing, malware distribution or spam;
- Deliberately target a domain in bad faith to trade off someone else’s rights or reputation (for example, registering a competitor’s lapsed trade mark to hold it to ransom);
- Harass, defame or impersonate any person or organisation;
- Circumvent .nz Rules, registry policies, or any moderation or reservation applied to a name;
- Interfere with the operation of the service, including scraping, probing, or placing orders through automated means without our written consent;
- Create multiple accounts to evade credit limits, order limits, or a suspension.
Fair play
- Catch orders are first come, first served. Attempting to game the queue, or placing speculative orders you have no intention of honouring, may result in order rejection or account closure.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to hold any domain you order. Rights disputes (including under the .nz Dispute Resolution Service) are between you and the complainant.
Enforcement
We may reject orders, cancel confirmed orders (never charging for uncaught domains), suspend or close accounts, and report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. We’re reasonable people - genuine mistakes get a conversation before consequences.
